Palm trees, pool and dog sports - February 2019 - Workshop in Palm Beach

We were invited to a three-day seminar in Palm Beach by some truly exceptional hosts: Susan Miller, a multiple World Championships participant, and Trisha Harper, an instructor for the Explosives Unit at Homeland Security.

The 16-hour journey had been well worth it. A huge gate, adorned with a Malinois, led us into a beautiful estate. We were greeted with wine, shrimp, and fish. From our hosts' pool terrace, we could see the palm-fringed dog park.

The following day we met the participants of the seminar; they had traveled from various regions of the USA, some after journeys of up to 14 hours.

Despite the heat and sunburns, all dog handlers were fully engaged throughout the long days – in theory and practice.

We had a great time and hope to see some of the dog handlers again!

Palmtrees, Pool and Dog Sport - February 2019 - Workshop in Palm Beach

Thanks to our very special hosts, we spent a wonderful three-day seminar in Palm Beach:

Susan Miller, who competed at various world championships and Trisha Harper, team lead for explosives detection at the Homeland Security.

After 16 hours of travel, we arrived at a beautiful estate in Palm Beach - their personal training field was surrounded by palm trees which we watched from their pool terrace. A dog sport luxury we had not seen before..

The following day, we met participants that came from all over the states; some after 14 hours of driving. We started our three day seminar right away. Despite the heat and sunburns (at least we should have put on sun screen), everyone worked hard: in theory and on the field. 12 dog handlers showed their skills twice a day.

We enjoyed our short visit very much and really hope to see a few of our new friends again.
